Other strategies to stay positive
Visualizing
A very well discussed strategy is visualizing. As I mentioned in the post about classical conditioning, success trainers use this to aim goals and stay motivated. The more esoteric end of the spectrum even says, that whatever we achieve in life is a vision first and the universe can´t help but provide you with what you visualize.
I figured out it is a good means to get into a positive feeling. It is really fun, just to think about a special place, object or situation and pretend you already have it. I is a bit like dreaming, but more than that. If you are dreaming you might be reminded of what you don´t have. So while visualizing, make sure you don´t question it in any way. Just enjoy the feeling of being there or having it. It is said to be essential to get all the senses involved. That gets better the more you try. Today I dreamed myself into a place close to the sea and I could smell the water and even hear crickets chirping! When I was a child teachers always complained I was a dreamer. I could spend hours in dreaming and I was very absent sometimes. But I really do believe that many things I achieved are due to fantasizing. I can´t promise you if the universe delivers stuff you visualize frequently. But I can tell you that visualizing can give you a very positive feeling and boosts your motivation. If you can stay clearly positive with that, it will make you want to learn things and jump into action. It is fun! (If you keep slipping into negative, train the first strategy “carrots vs. donuts” first. You will be able to stay positive once you can do that.)
