Visualizing

A very well discussed strategy is visualizing. As I mentioned in the post  about classical conditioning, success trainers use this to aim goals and stay motivated. The more esoteric end of the spectrum even says, that whatever we achieve in life is a vision first and the universe can´t help but provide you with what you visualize.

I figured out it is a good means to get into a positive feeling. It is really fun, just to think about a special place, object or situation and pretend you already have it. I is a bit like dreaming, but more than that. If you are dreaming you might be reminded of what you don´t have. So while visualizing, make sure you don´t question it in any way. Just enjoy the feeling of being there or having it. It is said to be essential to get all the senses involved. That gets better the more you try. Today I dreamed myself into a place close to the sea and I could smell the water and even hear crickets chirping! When I was a child teachers always complained I was a dreamer. I could spend hours in dreaming and I was very absent sometimes. But I really do believe that many things I achieved are due to fantasizing. I can´t promise you if the universe delivers stuff you visualize frequently. But I can tell you that visualizing can give you a very positive feeling and boosts your motivation. If you can stay clearly positive with that, it will make you want to learn things and jump into action. It is fun! (If you keep slipping into negative, train the first strategy “carrots vs. donuts” first. You will be able to stay positive once you can do that.)

Classical Conditioning

I want to adress other strategies here, too. I am always looking for tools others use to get more positive thinking during the day and there´s quite a lot of suggestions others make. A great source of that to me are success trainers. You get heeps of videos on how to gain success and what most of them claim is, that once you visualize the attainment of a goal and attach that to a really positive feeling, the fulfillment of that aim is inevitable. (Wow. Well said- That´s it basically).

The fun thing I stumbled upon yesterday (in a youtube video) is a guy who suggests, that during sex when you reach climax you should think about the attainment of your goal. He says that it is a good strategy to connect a very positive feeling to a goal. Think about that option (muhaha). So this guy ist doing something like classical conditioning like Ivan Pawlow invented. You are “tagging” that very positive and ecstatic feeling to a neutral stimus, in that case the wanted outcome, let´s say some material object. I wonder what your partner would think about it… I remember clichee stories about women complaining, that she thinks her partner thinks about another woman during intercourse. What a grief. Everybody knows this, mainly by satirical stories about people moaning “oh Suzie”, while sleeping with Andrea or so. People don´t seem to like their partner thinking about someone else! What if you know you sleep with a guy who thinks about a BMW 5 Series, or a Ferrari or an Audi A6 hybrid cabrio? This is gross!

Or a big house at the sea side? And what if that guy is right? If everything you think during your climax, is going to be materialized in your life? And what if I am always thinking about my climax during climax? Will there be an amount of climaxes to come I´ll never be able to cover in my lifetime?

I think this is really weird. If anyone wants to experiment with it, maybe start with something less gross, like some lasagne or so. Would that lasagne materialize? What´s the underlying mechanism? How does your attitude towards lasagne change? How do you react to lasagne-related information? Will you process noodle-information better? Will you retrieve fat-related food memories easier? Or will it just spoil your sex? I don´t know, tell me.
