If you can implement this in your thinking, this will not be like some steps forward but a huge jump to your goals:
Think positively about others! Many people tend to believe, that they need to think positively about themselves, their goals, their abilities, their feelings towards themselves. That is only partly true. You can´t get really far if you miss out the thoughts you got about others. Find a way to think good about others. Of course, there are people doing mean things out there. But count in what they experienced, what made them be that way. People can treat children so bad that you´d burst into tears just by listening to their stories.
Some people say: you can´t excuse everything. I figured out: I can. At least I can try to. That makes very good feelings toward humanity. We are good. We can do good and you don´t cure anybody by condemning him.
